Last month MySQL AB announced a new, higher-level MySQL certification for the 5.x version of the database.

According to the companys Web site, the new MySQL 5.1 Cluster DBA Certification (CMCDBA) is a "specialization exam for those that design, deploy and administer MySQL Cluster setups" that "represents an advancement level exceeding" the base-level MySQL certification.

To become a CMCDBA, candidates must first earn the MySQL 5.0 certification for DBAs (two exams), then pass the advanced titles one exam.
